1447 — Umar ibn Ayyūb also narrated to us. He said: Abū Hishām al-Rifāī narrated to us. He said: Yahyā ibn Yamān narrated to us. He said: Sharīk narrated to us, from al-Amash, from Abū Sālih, from Kab—meaning Kab al-Ahbār—who said, “Do not kill Uthmān. By Allah, if you kill him, killing will surely be deemed lawful throughout the lands from the Byzantine frontier passes to Sana'a, and there will surely be civil strife and deep-seated animosities.”
