1431 — Al-Firyābī narrated to us: Abū Bakr ibn Abī Shayba and Amr ibn ⦗1958⦘ Muhammad al-Nāqid narrated to us, saying: Ishāq ibn Sulaymān al-Rāzī narrated to us: Abū Ja'far al-Rāzī narrated to us, from Ayyūb al-Sakhtiyānī, from Nāfi', from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), that Uthmān (may Allah be pleased with him) addressed the people one morning and said, “I saw the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), and he said, ‘O Uthmān, break your fast with us tonight.’” So he began the day fasting and was then killed that very day. May Allah have mercy on him.
