1421 — Abū Abd Allāh Ahmad ibn al-Hasan ibn Abd al-Jabbār al-Sūfī narrated to us, saying: Mansūr ibn Abī Muzāhim narrated to us, saying: Abū Saīd al-Muaddib narrated to us, from Khusayf, from Mujāhid, from Aisha—may Allah be pleased with her—who said: “Uthmān—may Allah be pleased with him—came in to see the Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—while I was sitting a short distance from them. He spoke privately with him for a long time. Then, before I knew it, Uthmān—may Allah be pleased with him—was on his knees, saying, ‘Unjustly and wrongfully, O Messenger of Allah?’” She said, “I presumed that he had informed him that he would be killed.”
