1410 — Abū al-Abbās Abd Allah ibn al-Saqr al-Sukkarī also narrated to us, saying: Abū Marwān al-Uthmānī narrated to us, saying: My father narrated to us, from Abd al-Rahmān ibn Abī al-Zinād, from his father, from al-Araj, from Abū Hurayra—may Allah be pleased with him—that the Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—stood at the grave of his second daughter, who had been married to Uthmān—may Allah be pleased with him—and said, “Is there no father of an unmarried woman—or even a brother of one—who will give her in marriage to Uthmān? Had there been ten of them, I would have given them all in marriage to Uthmān. It was only by revelation from heaven that I gave him my daughters in marriage.”
