1408 — Abū al-Qāsim Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Abd al-Azīz al-Baghawī narrated to us, saying: Abū al-Rabī al-Zahrānī narrated to us, saying: Hammād ibn Zayd narrated to us, saying: A client of Uthmān narrated to me, from Usāma ibn Zayd, who said: The Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—sent me with a dish containing meat to Uthmān—may Allah be pleased with him. When I entered, I found him sitting with Ruqayya—may Allah be pleased with her. I had never seen a more beautiful couple than the two of them. I kept looking once at Uthmān and once at Ruqayya. When I returned to the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—he asked, “Did you go in to see them?” I said, “Yes.” He asked, “Have you ever seen a more beautiful couple than the two of them?” I replied, “No, O Messenger of Allah. I kept looking once at Ruqayya and once at Uthmān.”
