1393 — Umar ibn Ayyūb al-Saqatī narrated to us, saying: al-Hasan ibn Arafa narrated to us, saying: al-Walīd ibn al-Fadl narrated to us, from Ismāīl ibn Ubayd al-Ijlī, from Hammād ibn Abī Sulaymān, from Ibrāhīm al-Nakhaī, from Alqama ibn Qays, from Ammār ibn ⦗1917⦘ Yāsir, who said: The Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—said to me:

“O Ammār, Gabriel—peace be upon him—came to me just now. I said, ‘O Gabriel, tell me about Umar’s merits in heaven.’ He replied, ‘Were I to remain as long as Noah remained among his people—one thousand years less fifty—Umar’s merits would not be exhausted. Indeed, Umar is but one of Abū Bakr’s good deeds.’”
