Abū Bakr Abdullāh ibn Muhammad ibn Abd al-Hamīd al-Wāsitī ⦗468⦘ narrated to us, saying: Zuhayr ibn Muhammad al-Marwazī narrated to us, saying: Abd al-Razzāq informed us, saying: Mamar informed us, from al-Zuhrī, from Amr ibn Shuayb, from his father, from Abdullāh ibn Amr, who said: The Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—heard some people disputing with one another about the Quran, so he said: “Those before you were destroyed only because of this: they pitted one part of the Book of Allah—Glorious is His Majesty—against another, whereas the parts of the Book of Allah confirm one another. Therefore, do not use one part to deny another. Speak about whatever you know of it, and leave whatever you do not know to one who knows it.”
