1381 — Abu al-Qāsim Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Abd al-Azīz al-Baghawī narrated to us, saying: Kāmil ibn Talha al-Jahdarī narrated to us, saying: al-Layth ibn Sad narrated to us, from Uqayl ibn Khālid, from Ibn Shihāb, from Ibn al-Musayyib, that Abu Hurayra said: While we were with the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—he said:
“While I was asleep, I saw myself in Paradise, and there was a comely woman—that is, a beautiful woman—beside a palace. I asked, ‘Whose palace is this?’ They replied, ‘Umar’s.’ I then remembered his protective jealousy, so I turned and walked away.”
Abu Hurayra said: Umar—may Allah be pleased with him—wept and said, “May my father and mother be sacrificed for you! Would I ever feel protective jealousy toward you?”
