1376 — Abū Bakr Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Abd al-Hamīd al-Wāsitī also narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Rizq Allah al-Kalwadhānī narrated to us, saying: Yaqub ibn Ibrāhīm narrated to us, saying: My father narrated to us, from Sālih ibn Kaysān, from Ibn Shihāb, who said: Abū Umāmah ibn Sahl ibn Hunayf narrated to me that he heard Abū Saīd al-Khudrī say: The Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—said ⦗1902⦘: “While I was asleep, I saw people being presented before me wearing shirts. Some of the shirts reached the chest, while others fell short of that. Then Umar passed before me wearing a shirt that trailed behind him.” They asked him, “O Messenger of Allah, how did you interpret that?” He replied, “Religion.”
