1353 — Abū Saīd Ahmad ibn Muhammad al-Arābī narrated to us, saying: Ahmad ibn Amr ibn Abd al-Khāliq narrated to us, saying: Safwān ibn al-Mughallis narrated to us, saying: Ishāq ibn Bishr narrated to us, saying: Khalaf ibn Khalīfa narrated to us, from Abū Hāshim al-Rummānī, from Saīd ibn ⦗1884⦘ Jubayr, from Ibn Abbās, who said, “Thirty-nine men and women embraced Islam alongside the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him. Then Umar—may Allah be pleased with him—embraced Islam, bringing their number to forty. Gabriel—peace be upon him—then descended and said, ‘O Prophet, Allah is sufficient for you and for the believers who follow you’ [al-Anfāl: 64].”
