1337 — Abū Bakr ibn Abī Dāwūd narrated to us, saying: Abdullāh ibn Sa‘īd al-Kindī narrated to us, saying: Ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from Āsim, from Sālim ibn Abī Hafsa, al-A‘mash, Kathīr al-Nawwā’, Ibn Abī Laylā, and Abdullāh ibn Suhbān, from Atiyya, from Abū Sa‘īd, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: “Those who occupy the highest ranks will surely be seen by those beneath them just as a radiant star is seen in the sky. Indeed, Abū Bakr and Umar are among them—and what excellent men they are!”
