1312 — Abū Jafar Ahmad ibn Yahyā al-Hulwānī narrated to us, saying: Ahmad ibn Abd Allāh ibn Yūnus narrated to us, saying: Abū Muāwiya—may Allah be pleased with him—narrated to us, from al-Hasan ibn Umāra, from Firās, from al-Shabī, from al-Hārith al-Awar, from Alī ibn Abī Tālib—may Allah be pleased with him—who said: Abū Bakr and Umar—may Allah Most High have mercy on them both—approached while I was sitting with the Prophet ﷺ. He said, “These two are the leaders of the mature men among the people of Paradise, from the earliest generations to the latest, apart from the prophets and messengers. Do not ⦗1847⦘ tell them, O Alī.” He said: I did not mention it to them until they had both passed away.
