1309 — Abū al-Qāsim Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Abd al-Azīz al-Baghawī narrated to us, saying: Wahb ibn Baqiyya al-Wāsitī narrated to us, saying: Abd Allah ibn Sufyān al-Wāsitī narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, from Atā, from Abū al-Dardā, who said: The Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—saw me walking ahead of Abū Bakr—may Allah be pleased with him—and said: “O Abū al-Dardā, are you walking ahead of one who is better than you in this world and the Hereafter? The sun has neither risen nor set upon anyone better than Abū Bakr after the prophets and messengers.”
