1284 — Abū Bakr Abd Allāh ibn Muhammad ibn Abd al-Hamīd al-Wāsitī narrated to us, saying: Ismāʿīl ibn Abī al-Hārith narrated to us, saying: Dāwūd ibn al-Muhabbar narrated to us, saying: al-Rabīʿ ibn Sabīh narrated to us, from al-Hasan, concerning the words of Allah—Glorious is His Majesty—: “If you do not support him, Allah has already supported him when those who disbelieved drove him out as one of two, when they were both in the cave” [al-Tawbah: 40]. He said: “By Allah, Allah—Glorious is His Majesty—reproached all the inhabitants of the earth except Abū Bakr—may Allah be pleased with him.”
