1273 — Al-Firyābī also narrated to us: Abū Qudāma ʿUbayd Allah ibn Saʿīd narrated to us: Muhammad ibn Bakr narrated to us: Ibn Jurayj informed us: ʿAmr ibn Dīnār informed me, from Muhammad ibn ʿAlī, from Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allah. He said: Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir also informed me, from Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allah, who said: When the Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—passed away, wealth from al-ʿAlāʾ ibn al-Hadramī came to Abū Bakr—may Allah be pleased with him. Abū Bakr said, “Whoever is owed a debt by the Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—or was given a promise by him, let him come to us.” Jābir said: I said, “The Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—promised to give me this much, this much, and this much.” He then opened out his hand three times. Jābir said: He counted five hundred into my hands, then another five hundred, and then another five hundred.
