1267 — Al-Firyābī also narrated to us, saying: Al-Mu‘āfā ibn Sulaymān al-Jazarī narrated to us, saying: Fulayh ibn Sulaymān narrated to us, from Sālim ibn Abī al-Nadr, from ‘Ubayd ibn Jubayr, ⦗1806⦘ from Abū Sa‘īd al-Khudrī, who reported that the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—addressed the people and said, “No one has given more generously to me through his companionship and wealth than Abū Bakr. Had I taken an intimate friend from among the people, I would have taken Abū Bakr as my intimate friend. Rather, there remains the bond of Islam and its affection. No door into the Mosque is to be left open without being closed, except the door of Abū Bakr.”
