1249 – Abū Bakr Qāsim ibn Zakariyyā al-Mutarriz also narrated to us: Abū Kurayb and Abū Sa'īd al-Ashajj narrated to us; they said: Ibn Idrīs narrated to us.

1250 – Al-Mutarriz said: Muhammad ibn al-Muthannā and Bundār also narrated to us; they said: Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us: Shu'ba narrated to us, from Amr ibn Murra, from Abū Hamza, from Zayd ibn Arqam, who said, “The first person to embrace Islam was Alī ibn Abī Tālib—may Allah be pleased with him.” He said, “I mentioned this to Ibrāhīm, but he rejected it and said, ‘The first person to embrace Islam alongside the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—was Abū Bakr—may Allah be pleased with him.’”
