He said: Shu'ba narrated to us: Sa'īd al-Jurayrī narrated to me, from Abū Nadra, from Abū Sa'īd al-Khudrī, who said: Abū Bakr al-Siddīq—may Allah be pleased with him—said, “Am I not the person most entitled to it? Was I not the first to embrace Islam? Was I not the one associated with such-and-such? Was I not the one associated with such-and-such?”
