1227 — Ibn Abd al-Hamīd also narrated to us, saying: Ziyād ibn Ayyūb al-Tūsī narrated to us, saying: Ismāīl ibn Ulayyah narrated to us, saying: Humayd informed us, saying: Anas ibn Mālik said: They said, “Love for Uthmān and Ali—may Allah be pleased with them both—cannot coexist in a believer’s heart.” But they lied. Love for them both has indeed come together in our hearts, praise be to Allah.
