11 — Abū Bakr ‘Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Hamīd al-Wāsitī informed us, saying: Abū Hishām al-Rifā‘ī narrated to us, saying: Abū Bakr ibn ‘Ayyāsh narrated to us, saying: ‘Āsim narrated to us, from Zirr, from ‘Abd Allah, who said: We were sitting with the Prophet—may Allah bless him—⦗291⦘ when he recited: “And indeed, this is My straight path, so follow it, and do not follow other paths” [al-An‘ām 6:153], lest they lead you away from His path. He then drew a line and said, “This is the path.” Next, he drew lines around it and said, “These are the other paths. There is not one of them without a devil upon it, calling people to it.”
