121 — Al-Firyābī also narrated to us, saying: Yaqūb ibn Ibrāhīm narrated to us, saying: ⦗441⦘ Saīd ibn Āmir narrated to us, saying: I heard my grandfather, Asmā ibn Khārija, relate: Two men who adhered to deviant doctrines came to Muhammad ibn Sīrīn and said, “O Abū Bakr, shall we narrate a hadith to you?” He said, “No.” They said, “Then shall we recite to you a verse from the Book of Allah, Mighty and Majestic?” He said, “No. You must either leave me, or I shall leave.”
