after Abū Bakr.
Muhammad ibn al-Husayn said: All of this, together with what is narrated from Alī, may Allah be pleased with him, concerning the merits of Abū Bakr and Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, demonstrates what we have stated. We shall cite from Alī’s words regarding their merits that which Allah, the Most Generous, will use to gladden the eyes of the believers, bring tears of grief to the eyes of the hypocrites, and abase every Rāfidī and Nāsibī who has been led away from the path of truth and made to follow Satan’s paths, whereupon he gained mastery over them. Thus, they wander to and fro in their error and turn aside from the path of right guidance.
