1163 – Ibn ‘Abd al-Hamīd also reported to us. He said: Muhammad ibn Ma‘mar reported to us. He said: Mu’ammal ibn Ismā‘īl reported to us. He said: Abū Mawdūd Bahr ibn Mūsā reported to us. He said: I heard al-Hasan recite this verse: “Allah will bring forth a people whom He loves and who love Him” [al-Mā’idah: 54]. He said: “By Allah, it does not refer to the people of Harūrā’, but rather to Abū Bakr, ‘Umar, and their companions.”
