1158 – Abū Bakr ibn ‘Abd al-Hamīd reported to us: al-Hasan ibn Yahyā al-Jurjānī reported to us: ‘Abd al-Razzāq informed us: Ma‘mar informed us, from al-Hasan, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “The likeness of my Companions among the people is that of salt in food.” He said: al-Hasan would say, “Alas, the people’s salt is gone.”
