1155 – Abu al-Qāsim ‘Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-‘Azīz al-Baghawī reported to us: Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Yahyā ibn Sa‘īd al-Qattān reported to us: Husayn ⦗1682⦘ ibn ‘Alī al-Ju‘fī reported to me, from Mujammi‘ ibn Yahyā al-Ansārī, from Sa‘īd ibn Abī Burda, from Abū Burda, from Abū Mūsā, who related that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his head toward the sky—and he would often raise his head toward the sky—and said, “The stars are a safeguard for the sky; when the stars are gone, the sky will be overtaken by what it has been promised. I am a safeguard for my Companions; when I am gone, my Companions will be overtaken by what they have been promised. And my Companions are a safeguard for my nation; when my Companions are gone, my nation will be overtaken by what it has been promised.”
