1127 — Abū Muhammad Abd Allah ibn Sālih al-Bukhārī informed us, saying: Abd al-Aʿlā ibn Hammād al-Narsī narrated to us, saying: Hammād ibn Salama narrated to us, from ʿAlī ibn Zayd, that Musʿab ibn al-Zubayr intended to kill the chief of the Ansar. Anas ibn Mālik ⦗1649⦘ then entered upon him and said: I heard the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—say: “Treat the Ansar well—or, he said, with kindness. Accept the good of those among them who do good, and pardon those among them who do wrong.” Musʿab then descended from his couch onto his rug and pressed his neck against it—or, he said, his cheek; or, he said, he rolled about upon it. He then said: “The command of the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—is received with the utmost honor and obedience! The command of the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—is received with the utmost honor and obedience!”
