1126 — Abū Bakr Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Abd al-Hamīd al-Wāsitī also narrated to us, saying: Abū Hishām al-Rifāʿī narrated to us, saying: Yazīd ibn Hārūn narrated to us, saying: Yahyā ibn Saʿīd narrated to us that Saʿd ibn Ibrāhīm informed him, from al-Hakam ibn Mīnā, from Yazīd ibn Jāriya, who said: I was sitting with a group of the Ansar when Muʿāwiya ibn Abī Sufyān—may Allah be pleased with him—came out to us. He asked us what we were discussing, and we replied, “We were recounting an account concerning the Ansar.” He said, “Shall I not tell you another account that I heard from the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace? I heard the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—say: ‘Whoever loves the Ansar, Allah loves him; and whoever hates the Ansar, Allah hates him.’”
