1122 — Abū Bakr ibn Abī Dāwūd also narrated to us, saying: Abū Hurayra Wahb Allah ibn Rizq Allah al-Misrī narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Idrīs al-Shāfiʿī and Khālid ibn Nizār narrated to us, saying: Sufyān ibn ʿUyayna narrated to us, from Ismāʿīl ibn Abī Khālid, from Qays ibn Abī Hāzim, from Abū Bakr al-Siddīq—may Allah be pleased with him—who said, “Our case and that of the Ansar is just as the Ghanawī said to Banū Jaʿfar:

[Long meter]
May Allah reward Jaʿfar on our behalf, when our sandal brought us to the brink
Among those who trod, and then it slipped.

They refused to grow weary of us; yet if our own mother were to face
What they endure from us, she would surely grow weary.”
