1121 — Abū Bakr ibn Abī Dāwūd also narrated to us, saying: al-Hasan ibn Atāʾ Shādhawayh narrated to us, saying: Bakr ibn Bakkār narrated to us, saying: Shuʿba narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ziyād, from Abū Hurayra, that the Messenger of Allah—may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him—said, “If the people were to take one valley while the Ansar took another, I would take the valley of the Ansar. Were it not for the Emigration, I would be a man of the Ansar.” Abū Hurayra said, “Indeed, they gave refuge and support—may Allah’s mercy be upon them.”
