1119 — Abū Abd Allah Jaʿfar ibn Idrīs al-Qazwīnī narrated to us, saying: Yahyā ibn Abdak al-Qazwīnī narrated to us in Qazwīn, saying: Abd Allah ibn Yazīd al-Muqri narrated to us, saying: Saʿīd ibn Abī Ayyūb narrated to us, saying: Maʿrūf ibn Suwayd al-Judhāmī narrated to me, from Abū Ushshānah al-Maʿāfirī, from Abd Allah ibn Amr ibn al-As, that the Messenger of Allah—may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him—said, “Do you know who among the creation of Allah—Mighty and Majestic—will be the first to enter Paradise?” They replied, “Allah and His Messenger know best.” He said, “The first among the creation of Allah—Mighty and Majestic—to enter Paradise will be the Emigrants: through them the frontiers are secured and dangers are averted, yet one of them dies with an unfulfilled need still in his heart, unable to fulfill it. Allah—Mighty and Majestic—will say to whichever of His angels He wills, ‘Go to them and greet them with peace.’ The angels will say, ‘Our Lord, we are the inhabitants of Your heaven and Your chosen ones among Your creation. Are You commanding us to greet them with peace?’ He will say, ‘They were servants of Mine who worshipped Me without associating ⦗1643⦘ anything with Me. Through them the frontiers were secured and dangers were averted, yet one of them would die with an unfulfilled need still in his heart, unable to fulfill it.’” He continued, “The angels will then come to them, entering upon them through every gate: ‘Peace be upon you for what you patiently endured. How excellent is the final abode!’” [al-Raʿd: 24]
