1118 — And al-Firyābī narrated to us, saying: Safwān ibn Sālih narrated to us, saying: al-Walīd ibn Muslim narrated to us, saying: Yahyā ibn al-Hārith al-Dhimārī and Shaybah ibn al-Ahnaf al-Awzāī narrated to us, saying: We heard Abū Sallām al-Aswad narrate from Thawbān, the freedman of the Messenger of Allah—may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him—that the Messenger of Allah—may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him—spoke of his Pond. They asked, “O Messenger of Allah, who will be the first people to reach it?” He replied, “The poor among the Emigrants: their hair disheveled, their garments soiled, for whom doors are not opened and who do not marry women accustomed to luxury.”
