the party of Allah alone are the successful.” [al-Mujādilah: 22]

He—Glorified and Exalted is He—said:

“Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. Those with him are firm toward the disbelievers and compassionate among themselves. You see them bowing and prostrating, seeking Allah’s bounty and pleasure.” [al-Fath: 29]—through to His words: “among them forgiveness and a tremendous reward.” [al-Fath: 29]

He—Glorified and Exalted is He—said:

“Allah has promised those of you who believe and do righteous deeds that He will surely make them successors in the land, as He made those before them successors; that He will surely establish for them their religion, which He has chosen for them; and that He will surely replace their fear with security. They worship Me, associating nothing with Me.” [al-Nūr: 55]

Muhammad ibn al-Husayn—may Allah have mercy on him—said: By Allah, Allah the Most Generous—Glorified and Exalted is He—did indeed fulfill for the Emigrants and the Helpers what He had promised them. He made them caliphs after the Messenger and established them throughout the lands. They achieved conquests, gained wealth as spoils, took the disbelievers’ offspring captive, and a great many disbelievers embraced Islam at their hands. They brought strength and honor to the religion of Allah—Mighty and Majestic is He—and brought low the enemies of Allah—Glorified and Exalted is He. Allah’s cause prevailed, though the polytheists detested it. They established noble sunnahs for the Muslims and were a blessing to the entire ummah: Abū Bakr, Umar, Uthmān, and Alī. “Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him. They are the party of Allah.
