1098 — Abū al-Qāsim ʿAbd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz al-Baghawī narrated to us, saying: ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿUmar Abū ʿAbd al-Rahmān al-Kūfī narrated to us, saying: Wakīʿ narrated to us, saying: Dāwūd—that is, Ibn Yazīd—narrated to us, from his father, from Abū Hurayra, from the Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace. Abū ʿAbd al-Rahmān said: Abū Usāma also narrated to us, from Dāwūd ibn Yazīd, from his father, from Abū Hurayra, from the Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—concerning the verse, “Perhaps your Lord will raise you to a station of praise” [al-Isrāʾ: 79]. He said: “Intercession.” In Abū Usāma’s narration, it reads: “It is the station at which he will intercede for his nation.”
