1094 — Abū Bakr ibn Abī Dāwūd al-Sijistānī narrated to us, saying: Yūnus ibn Habīb al-Asbahānī narrated to us, saying: Abū Dāwūd al-Tayālisī narrated to us, saying: al-Mas'ūdī narrated to us, from Āsim, from Abū Wā'il, from Abd Allah—that is, Ibn Mas'ūd—who said: “Allah—Mighty and Majestic—took Abraham as an intimate friend, and your Companion is Allah’s intimate friend. Muhammad will indeed be the master of the children of Adam on the Day of Resurrection and the most honored of all creatures in the sight of Allah—Mighty and Majestic.” He then recited: “Perhaps your Lord will raise you to a Praiseworthy Station.” [al-Isrā’: 79]
