1092 — Abū Bakr Qāsim ibn Zakariyā al-Mutarriz narrated to us, saying: Ahmad ibn Manī' narrated to us, saying: Ishāq al-Azraq narrated to us, saying: Sufyān—that is, al-Thawrī—narrated to us, from Abū ⦗1605⦘ Ishāq, from Sila ibn Zufar, from Hudhayfa ibn al-Yamān, concerning the words of Allah—Mighty and Majestic—: “Perhaps your Lord will raise you to a Praiseworthy Station.” [al-Isrā’: 79] He said:
“Allah will gather creation upon a single level plain. The caller’s voice will reach them all, and sight will encompass them all. They will be naked and barefoot, standing in silence. Muhammad—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—will then call out, saying: ‘At Your service, my Lord, and ever ready to obey You. All good is in Your hands; rightly guided is the one whom You guide. Your servant stands before You, from You and unto You. There is no deliverance and no refuge from You except with You. Blessed and Exalted are You. Glory be to You, Lord of the House.’”
He said, “That is the Praiseworthy Station.” Ishāq said, “Sharīk also related it to us through this chain, adding: ‘For which the first and the last will admire him.’”
1093 — Qāsim al-Mutarriz also narrated to us, saying: Abū Bakr ibn Zanjawayh ⦗1606⦘ narrated to us, saying: Abd al-Razzāq narrated to us, saying: Ma'mar and al-Thawrī informed us, from Abū Ishāq, from Sila ibn Zufar al-Absī, who said: I heard Hudhayfa speaking concerning the words of Allah—Mighty and Majestic—: “Perhaps your Lord will raise you to a Praiseworthy Station.” [al-Isrā’: 79] He then related exactly the same report as Ishāq al-Azraq and added that this was the Praiseworthy Station mentioned in the words of Allah—Mighty and Majestic—: “Perhaps your Lord will raise you to a Praiseworthy Station.” [al-Isrā’: 79]
