1073 — Al-Firyābī informed us. He said: Ibrāhīm ibn al-Hajjāj al-Sāmī narrated to us. He said: Hammād ibn Salama narrated to us, from Ali ibn Zayd, from Said ibn al-Musayyib, from Aisha—may Allah be pleased with her—that the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—was among a group of the Emigrants and the Ansar when a camel came and prostrated itself before him. His Companions said, “O Messenger of Allah, animals and trees prostrate themselves before you, yet we have a greater right to prostrate ourselves before you.” He replied, “Worship your Lord and honor your brother. It is not fitting for anyone to prostrate to anyone else. Were I to command anyone to prostrate to another, I would command a woman to prostrate to her husband. If a man were to instruct his wife to carry stones from a black mountain to a red mountain, and from a red mountain to a black mountain, she ought to do so.”
