1072 — Al-Firyābī narrated to us: Ibrāhīm ibn al-Alā al-Zubaydī al-Himsī narrated to us: Abbād ibn Yūsuf al-Kindī, Abū Uthmān, narrated to us, from Abū Jafar al-Rāzī, from al-Rabī ibn Anas, from Anas ibn Mālik, who said:
“The Prophet entered an orchard belonging to the Ansar. Abū Bakr and Umar—may Allah be pleased with them both—were with him, along with some men of the Ansar. There were sheep in the orchard, and they prostrated themselves before him. Abū Bakr said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, we have a greater right to prostrate before you than these sheep do.’ He replied, ‘Indeed, it is not fitting for anyone in my community to prostrate to anyone else. Had it ⦗1589⦘ been fitting for anyone to prostrate to another, I would have commanded a woman to prostrate to her husband.’”
