1054 — Abū Muhammad Yahyā ibn Muhammad ibn Sā'id also narrated to us, saying: ⦗1569⦘ Abū Hishām al-Rifā'ī narrated to us, saying: Hafs ibn Ghiyāth narrated to us, on the authority of al-A'mash, on the authority of Abū Sālih, on the authority of Abū Hurayra, who said:
“We complained of hunger to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), so he said, ‘Gather your provisions.’ Each man began bringing a handful of dates or a handful of parched-grain meal. They spread out leather mats and cloaks—or, he said, garments—and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his hand upon them. He then said, ‘Eat.’ We ate until we were full and put some away in our provision bags. He then said, ‘I testify that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah and that I am the Messenger of Allah. Whoever comes bearing these two without doubting either of them will enter Paradise.’”
