1048 — Abū Ubayd ibn al-Husayn ibn Harb informed us, saying: Abū al-Ashath Ahmad ibn al-Miqdām narrated to us, saying: Yazīd ibn Zuray narrated to us, saying: Sulaymān al-Taymī narrated to us, from Sayyār, from Abū Umāma, that the Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Indeed, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, favored me over the prophets—or he said: my nation over all other nations—in four respects: He sent me to all mankind; He made the entire earth a place of prayer and a means of purification, so wherever the time for prayer overtakes a man of my nation, that place is his mosque and there he has his means of purification; I was aided by terror that travels ahead of me ⦗1558⦘ by a month’s journey and is cast into the hearts of my enemies; and the spoils of war were made lawful for me.”
