1046 — Abū al-Qāsim Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Abd al-Azīz al-Baghawī also narrated to us, saying: Abū Bakr ibn Abī Shayba narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from Yazīd ibn Abī Ziyād, from Mujāhid and Miqsam, from Ibn Abbās (may Allah be pleased with them both), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said: “I was granted five things, and I say this without boasting: I was sent to red and black alike; the earth was made a place of prayer and a means of purification for me; the spoils of war were made lawful for me, though they had not been lawful for anyone before me; I was aided by terror, which travels a month’s journey ahead of me; and I was granted intercession, which I chose for my community. Allah willing, it will reach everyone who does not associate anything with Allah, Glorious and Exalted.”
