1045 — Abū Muhammad Yahyā ibn Muhammad ibn Sā‘id also narrated to us, saying: Ishāq ibn Ibrāhīm ibn Habīb ibn al-Shahīd and Hārūn ibn Ishāq al-Hamadānī narrated to us, saying: Ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from Abū Mālik al-Ashja‘ī, from Rib‘ī ibn Hirāsh, from Hudhayfa ibn al-Yamān (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “We have been favored over all people in three respects: the earth was made a place of prayer for us; its soil was made a means of purification for us whenever we could not find water; and our rows were made like the rows of the angels. I was also given these verses from the end of Sūrat al-Baqara, from a treasure beneath the Throne. No one before me was given anything from it, nor will anyone after me be given anything from it.”
