992 — Al-Firyābī narrated to us, saying: Abū Masūd Ahmad ibn Abī al-Furāt narrated to us, saying: Abd al-Razzāq informed us, from Mamar, from al-Zuhrī, who said: Abū Salamah informed me that Abū Hurayrah ⦗1472⦘ said: I heard the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—say: “My likeness in relation to the prophets before me is that of a palace whose construction was made beautiful, except that the place of one brick was left vacant. Those who behold it walk around it, marveling at the beauty of its construction, and find no fault with anything except the place of that brick. I was the one who filled the place of that brick; thus the building was completed, and the messengers were sealed with me.”
