991 — Abū Bakr Jafar ibn Muhammad al-Firyābī narrated to us, saying: Qutaybah ibn Saīd narrated to us, saying: Ismāīl narrated to us, from Abd Allah ibn Dīnār, from Abū Sālih al-Sammān, from Abū Hurayrah, that the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—said: “My likeness in relation to the prophets before me is that of a man who built a house, making it beautiful and complete except for the place of one brick in one of its corners. The people began walking around it, marveling at it and saying, ‘If only this brick had been put in place!’” He said: “I am that brick, and I am the Seal of the Prophets.”
