97 — Abū Abd Allāh al-Husayn ibn Muhammad ibn Ufayr al-Ansārī informed us, saying: Nasr ibn Alī al-Jahdamī narrated to us, saying: My father narrated to us, saying: Harīz ibn Uthmān narrated to us, from Abd al-Rahmān ibn Abī Awf, from al-Miqdām ibn Madīkarib al-Kindī, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: “Behold, I have been given the Book and its like. Behold, I have been given ⦗416⦘ the Quran and its like. Behold, I have been given the Quran and its like. Behold, the time is near when a well-fed man, reclining upon his couch, will say: ‘Adhere to this Quran: whatever you find therein to be lawful, deem it lawful, and whatever you find therein to be forbidden, deem it forbidden.’” He then went on to relate the hadith.
