Al-Firyābī also narrated to us, saying: Ubayd Allah ibn Umar al-Qawārīrī narrated to us, saying: Hammād ibn Zayd narrated to us, saying: Ayyūb narrated to us, from Ghaylān ibn Jarīr, from Ziyād ibn Riyāh al-Qaysī, from Abū Hurayra—may Allah be pleased with him—who said: The Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—said: “Whoever withdraws from obedience and separates from the Community, and then dies, dies a death of pre-Islamic ignorance.”
