947 — Abū Abd Allāh Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Shāhīn narrated to us, saying: Abū Hammām al-Walīd ibn Shujā narrated to us, saying: Al-Walīd ibn Muslim narrated to us, from al-Awzāī, who said: Yahyā ibn Abī Kathīr narrated to me, from Abū Salama, from Abū Hurayra, who said: The Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—was asked, “When was prophethood established for you?” He replied, “Between Adam’s creation and the breathing of the spirit into him.”
