: 7]. He then warned them against opposing the command of the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—saying:

“Let those who oppose his command beware lest a trial afflict them or a painful punishment befall them.” [al-Nūr: 63]

And He—Glorified and Exalted is He—said:

“But no, by your Lord! They will not truly believe until they make you judge in their disputes, then find no discomfort within themselves regarding your judgment and submit completely.” [al-Nisāʾ: 65]

He then made obedience to him—peace and blessings be upon him—obligatory upon creation in more than thirty places in His Book, Most High.

This opponent of the Sunnahs of the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—should be told: “You ignorant man! Allah Most High said:

‘Establish prayer and give zakat.’ [al-Baqara: 43]

Where do you find in the Book of Allah Most High that the dawn prayer consists of two units, the noon prayer of four, the afternoon prayer of four, the sunset prayer of three, and the night prayer of four? Where do you find the rulings and prescribed times of prayer, what makes it valid, and what invalidates it, except in the Sunnahs of the Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him?

The same applies to zakat. Where do you find in the Book of Allah Most High that five dirhams are due on two hundred dirhams, half a dinar on twenty dinars, one sheep on forty sheep, and one sheep on five camels? Where do you find any of the detailed rulings of zakat in the Book of Allah Most High?”
