939 – Abū al-Qāsim ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muhammad ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz narrated to us, saying: Kāmil ibn Talha al-Jahdarī narrated to us, saying: al-Layth ibn Saʿd narrated to us, from ʿUqayl ibn Khālid, from Ibn Shihāb, from Ibn al-Musayyib, that Abū Hurayra said: While we were with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, he said: “While I was asleep, I saw myself in Paradise. There before me was a woman described as shawhā—meaning beautiful—beside a palace. I asked, ‘To whom does this palace belong?’ They replied, ‘To ʿUmar.’ I then remembered your protective jealousy and turned away.” Abū Hurayra said: ʿUmar wept and said, “May my father and mother be your ransom! Would I be jealous where you are concerned?”
