938 – Abū Bakr ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muhammad ibn ʿAbd al-Hamīd al-Wāsitī also narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Rizq Allāh al-Kalwadhānī narrated to us, saying: Zayd ibn al-Hubāb narrated to us, saying: al-Husayn ibn Wāqid narrated to me, saying: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Burayda al-Aslamī narrated to me, saying: I heard my father say: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, awoke one morning and said: “Last night I entered Paradise and saw therein a square palace of gold. I asked, ‘To whom does this palace belong?’ I was told, ‘To an Arab man.’ I said, ‘I am an Arab, so to whom does it belong?’ I was told, ‘To a Muslim man from the nation of Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.’ I said, ‘I am Muhammad, so to whom does this palace belong?’ I was told, ‘To ʿUmar ibn al-Khattāb.’” The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, then said: “Were it not for your protective jealousy, O ʿUmar, I would have entered the palace.” ʿUmar replied, “O Messenger of Allah, I would never feel jealous where you are concerned.”
