937 – Abū Bakr Qāsim ibn Zakariyyā al-Mutarriz narrated to us, saying: Abū Kurayb narrated to us, saying: Abū Bakr ibn ʿAyyāsh narrated to us, saying: Humayd al-Tawīl narrated to us, from Anas ibn Mālik, who said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: “I was admitted into Paradise, where a palace was raised into view for me. I asked, ‘To whom does this belong?’ They replied, ‘To a man from Quraysh.’ I thought that I was that man, so I asked, ‘Who is he?’ They replied, ‘ʿUmar ibn al-Khattāb.’” He then related the remainder of the hadith. Abū Bakr ibn ʿAyyāsh said: I asked Humayd, “Was this in a dream or while awake?” He replied, “No; rather, it was while awake.”
